Though lockdown is beginning to ease for a lot of the world, employees who can work from home are still being encouraged to do so. This means a lot of Skype, Zoom, Discord and Google Hangouts meetings are still taking place. Although those Zoom backgrounds can be a lot of fun, there’s apparently an even better place to host your meetings – in Red Dead Online.
Author Viviane Schwarz recently took to Twitter to share a story about her experience of attending her work meetings within the online game.
Her now-viral tweet thread kicks off with her writing: “Zoom sucks, we started having editorial meetings in Red Dead Redemption instead. It’s nice to sit at the campfire and discuss projects, with the wolves howling out in the night.”
She followed up with a tweet about the technical difficulties that the team had encountered during meetings, which included the fact their meeting table didn’t actually exist for everyone present.
She said: “The main technical hitches we’ve had is that sometimes the meeting table doesn’t exist for everyone, and sitting on the ground is the same button as attempting to strangle the nearest person. Still beats zoom.”
The whole thread is both hilarious and pretty inspiring, so if you’re looking to host your own staff meetings within the Rockstar Games title, check out the full thread here.
In related news, Rockstar Games is offering a 50% bonus this week for players of Red Dead Online who return a complete set of American Wildflowers to Madam Nazar.
Over on the R* website, the company writes: “Roam the frontier in search of artifacts and rarities to be handsomely rewarded for your steadfast determination: returning a complete set of American Wildflowers to Madam Nazar will pay 50% more through May 25th.
