STALKER 2 is set to have multiple endings and could even support Xbox modding, according to the game’s PR manager.

The new details were revealed during an episode of “Not Brought In”, a Russian language gaming podcast, spotted by WCCFTech.

STALKER 2’s PR manager, Zakhar Bocharov, provided some new details about the game, which were translated by GAMINGSYM.

During the podcast, Bocharov reportedly stated that the game will offer a “non-linear storyline with a huge number of branches and different endings,” while prioritising the game’s single-player mode. The PR also commented on the game’s AI system, A-life, which is set to be “more meticulous and more detailed.”

A-life 2.0 is a different level of performance,” claimed Bocharov. “We’ll pay enough attention to it closer to release. It’s a wildly cool system that works really well and there will be something to show.

It’s also claimed the game will support Xbox modding. Developer GSC is apparently prioritising mod support, and will try and implement it into the game’s release version. Bocharov also claimed that Xbox modding support is being explored, but since GSC has signed an NDA with Microsoft, the PR couldn’t disclose too much information.

One of the things that Bocharov could say with certainty is that STALKER 2 will be vastly more stable than its predecessors, using Unreal Engine in place of the original game’s X-ray engine.

The original STALKER released back in 2007 and received a spin-off sequel in 2009. STALKER 2 has been in development for over a decade, which means the project has likely changed a lot since its conception.

The STALKER series has been praised for being an immersive first-person horror experience, one that embodies the terror of post-apocalyptic survival. A recent trailer for the game suggested that it’ll feature a familiar character from the series. However, we weren’t able to spot anything in the game’s frantic snippet (looks mighty cool, though).

STALKER 2 is set to release on Xbox Series S/X and PC at some point in 2021.
