I couldn’t think of a more fitting tribute to a great man.
Stan Lee who, as you probably know, co-created some of the world’s biggest and most recognised superheroes died in late 2018.
As reported by the New York Post, NYC’s City Council voted last week to have University Avenue in the Bronx co-named Stan Lee Way. All that needs to happen now is for the city’s mayor Bill De Blasio to sign off on the proposal. Bill, you know what to do, don’t let all Lees fans down.
We recently learned a popular theory, that all of Lee’s iconic cameos throughout the Marvel franchise, have actually been the same character. A little hard to grasp at first but hold on.
Marvel president Kevin Feige confirmed that the idea was much more than a theory when discussing Stan’s appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
“Yes, we always thought it would be fun. Stan Lee clearly exists, you know, above and apart from the reality of all the films. So the notion that he could be sitting there on a cosmic pit stop during the jump gate sequence in Guardians was something very fun – James had that idea and we shot that cameo and loved it so much, you know, you see it a couple of times in the movie. It wasn’t in for a long time and we put it back in towards the end of the process where he references that time he was a Federal Express agent – we thought it would be fun to put that in there because that really says, so wait a minute, he’s this same character who’s popped up in all these films.”
I am sure Stan Lee Way will become a popular tourist hot-spot if the mayor of New York does sign off on the bill. Will you be going to visit?
