Star Wars: Lucasfilm has hired the deepfake artist that fixed the appearance of Luke Skywalker in a popular Disney+ series.

Star Wars: Lucasfilm has hired the deepfake artist that fixed the returning of Luke Skywalker in the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.
During the concluding moments of the hit series The Mandalorian, a digitally de-aged Mark Hamill made an appearance as the iconic Jedi, Luke Skywalker. However, as many of us had noticed, Skywalker’s face looked a bit off. I think it’s fair to say that he looked a little less natural and a little more robotic.
So, the extremely talented deepfake artist “Shamook” worked his magic and made Luke Skywalker look more natural. I guess you could say that he received an HD remaster.
The Force is strong with this deepfake artist
However, fans of Shamook noticed that his YouTube channel has not been as active as usual recently. Judging by his upload ratio, new videos are often released monthly. Yet between his last two videos is a gap of around four months.
Thankfully, Shamook has an incredibly good reason for the activity because he has been hired by Lucasfilm. Congratulations!
As reported by Comicbook.com, Shamook offered an update on the lack of recent activity. Shamook commented on an equally impressive deepfake video that places Robert Pattinson as The Dark Knight.
“As some of you may already know, I joined ILM/Lucasfilms a few months ago and haven’t had the time to work on any new YouTube content. Now I’ve settled into my job, uploads should start increasing again. They’ll still be slow, but hopefully not months apart. Enjoy!”
Shamook later confirmed in another comment to reveal that his job title at Lucasfilm is “Senior Facial Capture Artist.”
This news goes to show that with hard work and if you put your talent out there on social media platforms, the Force may be with you.
