It’s a time-honoured tradition that sometimes, when playing a game with crossplay, you just have to take advantage of other players’ Xbox voice controls.
It’s actually not a very nice thing to do at all, and if you’re an Xbox gamer you’ve probably raged at this prank at least once in your life, but it’s still a pretty funny.
Interestingly, it seems that saying “Xbox: turn off” will still actually turn off other players’ console, despite this being a trick that’s been around for a long time.
Twitch streamer Jameskii recently tested out the prank during a crossplay match of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, in which he successfully managed to boot multiple Xbox players out of the game simply by saying “Xbox: turn off” into his microphone.
Check it out in the clip below!
Surely there’s a way to stop this happening in 2019?!
Despite the pranks, it’s actually seriously impressive that the upcoming Modern Warfare will support crossplay from day one. Being able to play against your buddies, regardless of the platform you’re playing on, is a massive win for Activision.
CoD: Modern Warfare’s crossplay beta is now an open beta on all platforms.
Due out later this year, Modern Warfare is promising to be one of the darkest entries in the CoD franchise, and frankly, I can’t wait.
The game recently received its official rating from the ESRB, and the description from the ratings company has definitely given us a decent glimpse into what we can expect from the title’s campaign.
Just a few of the more harrowing elements included in the title include dismemberment, the death of children, intense blood spatter, decapitation and waterboarding. Infinity Ward definitely isn’t messing around with Modern Warfare!
