Sucker Punch Productions looks like it’s hiring for some new staff to work on an open-world action stealth game.
It sure sounds like Sucker Punch Productions is hiring for a new Ghost of Tsushima game. As spotted by IGN, the developer’s career page is currently hiring for a huge range of roles. Including various programming roles, design, and art.
This in itself isn’t particularly unusual, as big name studios are hiring for projects all of the time. However, the thing that is most interesting is what was mentioned on the a couple of the listings.

what do the listings say?
Part of the listing asks “Do you delight in knowing the details of attack or parry timing and count frames?” Of course, combat like that sounds pretty Ghost of Tsushima-esque to us. And roles also note that applicants should be familiar with the studio’s games, and understand their core mechanics.
And for the encounter designer role, one responsibility listed is “Deliver interesting and varied encounters in an open-world game, with a particular focus on melee combat and stealth.”
All of this massively feels like it’s pointing towards a Ghost of Tsushima sequel. Stealth, open world, action combat? That fits the 2020 title to a tee.
Only problem is that a sequel hasn’t actually been announced yet. Obviously an announcement for whatever the title might be will come eventually. And it’s not going to be mentioned in the listings, because it’s clearly not ready to be announced yet.
Alternatively, even if it is less likely, it could be a new Sly Cooper game. A rumour did emerge last month that a new Sly Cooper title could be revealed this year. Details are slim on this one, and it is only a rumour.
On top of that, Sucker Punch Productions hasn’t made a Sly Cooper game since 2005. So it might be the kind of thing the studio wants to make any more. So we’ll just have to wait for an official announcement.
