Tchia Was A Wholesome Break In The PlayStation Showcase

Tropical open-world adventure game Tchia stole the show at this week’s PlayStation Showcase.

September’s PlayStation Showcase contained some inspiring games from God of War: Ragnarok to Project Eve. But Tchia, a gorgeous and wholesome adventure game, has really stuck with the GameByte team.

The description of the game reads:

“Climb, glide, swim, and sail your boat around a beautiful archipelago in this physics-driven sandbox. Use Tchia’s special ability to take control of any animal or object you can find, and Jam on your fully playable Ukulele.”

The developers say that the game is inspired by New Caledonia, a collection of islands east of Australia and south of Vanuatu. New Caledonia is governed by France, and the use of language and geography in the game evokes a real sense of the beautiful setting. Check out the trailer to get a look at the charming gameplay:

Tchia’s magical gameplay

Tchia’s abilities allows players to experience life as the animals around the islands – from a soaring seabird to a scuttling crab. The trailer hints at a darker mission that Tchia must embark on and we’re excited to find out more.

The game doesn’t have a release date, but is said to be coming soon. If you’re looking for some tropical sunshine as we head into winter here in the Northern Hemisphere, add Tchia to your Steam wishlist!
