Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has officially started filming, according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
Confirmed during a recent interview with Variety, Feige confirmed that production of the Black Panther sequel is currently underway at Pinewood Studios, Atlanta. During the conversation, Feige touched on the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman and how he hopes to honour the actor with the sequel:
“It’s clearly very emotional without Chad, but everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”
Of course, while production on Wakanda Forever has begun, Marvel Studios hasn’t revealed who’ll be donning the superheroes’ Vibranium cowl. While we’ll likely find out who the next Black Panther is soon, it’ll be interesting to see how they pick up the mantle.
If you’ve been keeping up with the latest Marvel news, you’ll already know that Wakanda Forever is set to star Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett. Ryan Coogler is also returning to the director’s chair.
Marvel’s latest Black Panther outing is just one of 26 adventures in the works at the studio. This includes a brand new Disney Plus TV show set within the fictional African country. While the new show probably won’t directly feature Black Panther as a character, it’ll be interesting to see what it brings to the table.
