The Director of God Of War’s Dad Is Taking On New GOW Project

God of War has been one of the most critically-acclaimed games of the year, receiving universal praise for its storytelling prowess and gorgeous graphics.

It’s quickly become one of the highest rated games of all time, and if you still haven’t pick up a copy we strongly recommend that you give it a go.

Directed by Cory Barlog, the reboot/reimagining of God of War brought Kratos into a whole new world, and fans are eagerly awaiting any news on where the franchise is going next.

And it looks like the franchise is going somewhere pretty soon, as it’s just been announced via Twitter that God Of War will be getting its own novel, and it’s going to be written by none other than Cory Barlog’s dad, James Barlog!

Keeping the series in the family, Papa Barlog seems like a natural fit to bring God of War to the page.

He’s definitely got the experience and the knowledge to take on the challenge. Describing himself as an author of “horror, adventure and suspense,” James even helped his son by co-writing God of War II back in 2007.

We can’t think of anyone better to take on the challenge of a novelisation of God of War!

The novelisation of the game will be out on 28th August 2018 and it’s currently up for pre-order on Amazon. A digital copy of the book will set you back just £5.99, or you can get yourself a paperback copy for just £7.99.

If you’re interested you can sign up for the pre-order here.

Are you excited for a Kratos novel, or should games stay on console?

God of War fans are waiting on an update on any upcoming games in the series, as a recent job advert found online suggested work is already beginning on either the next in the series, or perhaps some DLC?

Come on, Santa Monica Studio – don’t keep us waiting too long!

At least we’ll have the novel to help us with what’s more than likely going to be a looong wait.
