Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 has received a permanent discount on the PlayStation Store. Rejoice! However, there is a catch.
As spotted on Resetera, The Last of Us Part 2 has been discounted on the US PS Store. At the time of writing, the US seems to be the only region to have the game discounted.
The standard edition for The Last of Us Part has a very reasonable price of $39.99, which is only about £28 in the UK. Whereas the Deluxe Edition has also dropped to $49.99 (approximately £36).
Will other regions follow?
However, in the UK, the game is still priced up at £54.99 for the standard edition and £64.99 for the Deluxe Edition. As you can see, that is quite the price difference.
Though there are ways of getting around regional pricing on the PS Store, such as buying PSN credit for other regions. That said, it would be nice if other regions received the permanent price reduction too. However, I would imagine that a price drop in other regions will soon follow.
Furthermore, it does appear that the price reduction in the US is permanent, as there is no mention of a sale or an expiry date for the current price.
