The Last Of Us Part 2 Has Officially Gone Gold

It’s official – Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 has officially gone gold, meaning the game is finished, complete and ready to ship.

The news was announced in a YouTube video from director Neil Druckmann (you can find the video here, but please stay out of the comments to avoid spoilers!).

The Last of Us Part 2 has been delayed twice, but is now set to land on June 19th, exclusively on PlayStation 4.

In related news, it’s been revealed the game will be a whopping 100GB in size. The digital store pages for the game were pulled from PlayStation Network after the game suffered its second delay, but now they’ve returned and revealed some VERY interesting info about the installation size.

According to the game’s American store page, The Last of Us Part 2 will take up at least 100GB of hard drive space on your PlayStation 4, making it the largest PlayStation exclusive title of all time. The physical version will be shipped on two discs.

Considering that this is a single player game that isn’t open world, that’s a pretty hefty chunk of space right there! Presumably it’s so large due to the graphics and audio of the game, though of course, we’ve only seen snippets of the final product so far.

The Last of Us Part 2 recently suffered from huge leaks online when developer footage hit the internet. It was believed that the footage came from an ex-Naughty Dog employee, though this has since be disproven. Spoilers are everywhere right now (even in the live comments of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla announcement) so as always, watch your step to avoid disappointment!

A massive congratulations to all at Naughty Dog, with what’s sure to be one of the best games of the PlayStation 4 era.
