It’s been a long, long time since we last saw the launch of an Elder Scrolls title, but as one of the most highly-regarded game series in the world, fans have been dreaming about Elder Scrolls 6 since it was mentioned back at E3.
For those who can’t wait any longer there may be exciting news on the horizon, as a leak online suggests the company behind Bethesda has filed a very interesting trademark…
ZeniMax Media Inc, the parent company of Bethesda, has filed a trademark for something called “Redfall,” which is described as “computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles.”
We know an Elder Scrolls 6 is planned for the future, and this wouldn’t be the first time a new game has been revealed via a trademark leak.
Of course the idea has sent the rumour mill into overdrive, as fans eagerly try to connect the name “Redfall” to the world of Elder Scrolls.
Reddit has a lot of theories on the matter, with one user speculating: “If this has anything to do with TES6 then what this could be it the two words REDGUARD and DAGGERFALL put together into REDFALL.
“The word itself does not make much sense though, I doubt they would name the next game Redfall.
“Keep also in mind that this cannot be put together from REDGUARD and HAMMERFELL because of the E in the FELL.
“This is my opinion!”
Another Reddit user mused: “It could always be a new place that hasn’t existed. Morthal didn’t exist until Skyrim if I’m not mistaken and the old city that used to be in its vicinity during arena was actually made into ruins/a dungeon.”
What do you think about the news? Could we really be getting Elder Scrolls: Redfall, or is this more of a red herring?
