The New Sonic The Hedgehog Trailer Is Here & It Actually Looks Decent

After a pretty rocky start it seems the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie is looking much healthier. The first trailer for the film was released earlier this year and was…well…it was pretty much assassinated online.

Thankfully, the top dogs behind the flick decided to take a step back and give the fans what we wanted: a Sonic that looks like Sonic, and not like a creepy blue humanoid with teeth and muscles.

The movie’s official description reads as follows: “Sonic The Hedgehog is speeding to theatres for a big screen adventure for the whole family! Watch the new trailer now, and #CatchSonic in theatres February 14!

“Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.”

After the unveiling of the first trailer earlier this year, the movie’s Jeff Fowler took to Twitter to announce that changes would take place following the backlash.

“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes,” tweeted Fowler.

“It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie releases in cinemas worldwide, Feb 2020.
