The Outer Worlds Confirms Story DLC Is Coming, Will Release In 2020

Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds is one of the best games of the year, and though it missed out on winning all the awards it was nominated for at The Game Awards 2019, it’s no doubt one of the best RPGs in a long time. Thankfully for fans of the new IP, it’s now been confirmed that there’s even more to come from The Outer Worlds.

Celebrating their success with the game, Obsidian Entertainment’s staff recently took to Twitter to thank The Outer Worlds fans, and make a special announcement about future plans for the game.

Obsidian writes on the official website: “We want to take this opportunity to thank the incredible team behind The Outer Worlds. It is because of their hard work and dedication to this project that we received the Best Narrative, Best Performance – Ashly Burch, Best RPG, and Game of the Year nominations at The Game Awards.

“To all of those who voted for us in The Game Awards, you are all fantastic and we are so grateful for your support. The reception to The Outer Worlds has been unbelievable to see, and even just being nominated means a lot. However, the journey isn’t over yet as we are excited to announce that we will be expanding the story through DLC next year! Details will be made available at a later date.”

Sadly we do have to wait to find out more, more hopefully the developers won’t keep us waiting too long!

If you haven’t played it yet, The Outer Worlds combines the best elements of classic RPGs like Fallout to create a jaw-droppingly amazing gameplay experience.

The Outer Worlds is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, with a Nintendo Switch release planned to launch sometime in 2020.
