The Sims 4 has received a surprise big new update for Neighborhood Stories, which brings a big refresh to neighbouring Sims.
Over on The Sims 4 blog, developer Nate detailed the new features coming to Neighborhood Stories in this new update. The first big addition discussed is life changes for Neighbor Sims, whether or not they have a relationship to the active household.
This update includes things like these neighbours being able to adopt young Sims. Or they can become pregnant with their significant other. They can join and leave careers, with Sim Traits heavily influencing these decisions. And they can die in different kinds of accidents, depending on things like age, traits, and the career they have.
But don’t worry, this update does not mean you will lose total control over your neighbouring Sims. A new set of gameplay controls are also coming as part of the update. This will let you fine tune which life changes Neighbor Sims can and cannot have. You can choose to let specific households have certain life changes, and others different ones.
Part of this update is to bring a bit more life to the world of The Sims. If you want, you do not have to interact with these neighbouring Sims in any shape or form. But the game will update you on what is happening in their lives. You can find out what’s happening in your town by clicking on any mailbox. Which will give you the rundown of life changes these Sims might have gone through.
