Kirby Is Getting A Live 30th Anniversary Concert

Everyone’s favourite pink blob Kirby is getting a 30th anniversary live concert later this year.

Typing the words ‘Kirby is celebrating his 30th anniversary’ certainly ages us by a thousand years. But unfortunately this is the truth. And as part of that celebration, a one off live concert is being held in honour of the hungry round friend.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Kirby, a one-time-only music festival will be held featuring a large big band-style ensemble of 35 musicians performing in a variety of genres,” the official concert website describes the event.

This event is a musical event in which you can enjoy original medleys of songs from past titles in the series while reminiscing on your memories with them. A large LED monitor at the venue will also feature a moving Kirby! We look forward to having an exciting festival together with everyone.

The concert is taking place at the Tokyo Garden Theatre on August 11. But don’t worry about having to fly out to Japan, as the concert will be live streamed for people to watch around the world. It’s set to start at 6pm JST, which is 9am in the UK. So if you need to get an early Kirby musical fix, this is the concert for you.

Obviously this is not the only way that Nintendo is celebrating Kirby’s anniversary. As right around the corner is the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The full game is out March 25, but a demo is available now to try out the new take on the Kirby format.
