Upcoming indie game The Spirit and the Mouse promises to deviate from your typical shoot-’em-up video games in favour of a more relaxed and enticing adventure. You’ll play as a mouse named Lila on a journey to help the people of her medieval European town.
The Spirit and the Mouse made a splash on the gaming scene earlier this year thanks to the Wholesome Direct, an indie games showcase which put the spotlight on some of the most charming and whimsical stories currently in development.
Little mouse Lila has gone on to steal plenty of hearts since her Wholesome Direct debut, and from what we’ve seen of the game so far, it’s no surprise as to why. With its unique story and tantalising art style, The Spirit and the Mouse is definitely one to keep on your radar.
The Spirit and the Mouse’s official description reveals more about Lila and the game, explaining: “Though she might be small, Lila the mouse is full of courage. After a fateful encounter with a mysterious Spirit in a quiet Village, Lila resolves to help its troubled villagers the best she can.
“Explore the town at your own pace to find hidden secrets, and meet a colorful cast of characters during your adventure! Immerse yourself in a beautiful medieval European town, during a quiet night.”
You’ll need to make the most of Lila’s Electric powers as you navigate around the beautiful town, embarking on a quest with a focus on accessibility, exploration and narrative.
