Thirsty Breath Of The Wild Fans Are Making Ganondorf Hot

A sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was announced during E3 2019, and though the teaser trailer didn’t give too much away, fans have taken what they’ve seen and run with it.

Some people in particular have really, really run with it, and have decided to work their artistic magic on the skeletal Ganondorf shown in the teaser [via Polygon].

Ganondorf appears in the short video as a dehydrated corpse-looking thing, but the artists of the internet have decided to “rehydrate” his dryness to make Ganondorf hot.

Similar to last year’s Bowsette meme, where one fan decided to reimagine Super Mario‘s Princess Peach as a dominatrix-style Bowser hybrid character, the internet has now birthed Hot Ganondorf.

Here’s a very anime take on Ganondorf, who definitely looks a lot more Instagram-worthy than he did in the BOTW 2 announcement trailer.

Another artist decided to add a different spin on the infamous Nintendo character.

Speaking to Kotaku about the reasoning behind the game’s conception, Zeldaseries producer Eiji Aonuma, explained that it’s all down to the many ideas the team had.

“When we released the DLC for Breath of the Wild, we realized that this is a great way to add more elements to the same world. But when it comes down to technical things, DLC is pretty much data—you’re adding data to a preexisting title. And so when we wanted to add bigger changes, DLC is not enough, and that’s why we thought maybe a sequel would be a good fit,” Aonuma said.

“Initially we were thinking of just DLC ideas, but then we had a lot of ideas and we said, ‘This is too many ideas, let’s just make one new game and start from scratch.’”

We don’t expect to hear much on the BOTW sequel since this is a project that’s going to take a number of years. Still, we know Nintendo won’t let us down!
