It’s looking like Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue is coming to PS4 and PS5, possibly the best and most important news of the year.
When you think of the best PS1 platformers, you probably think of Spyro. Or maybe Crash Bandicoot! And sure, you’d be right for the most part, but what you should be thinking of is the 1999 action-platformer Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue, one of the best PS1 games ever.
And now it looks like it’s going to be available on PS4 and PS5.
You’ve probably heard by now about the PlayStation Plus revamp, set to launch next month in Europe. Sony revealed some of the games coming to the service early last week, but it wasn’t the full list. As now evidenced by some gameplay of Toy Story 2 running on PS5 from Blue Sky Gameplay (thanks, GAMINGbible).
Toy Story 2 is certainly looking pretty dang crisp on PS5, with those bright colours really popping. The gameplay from Blue Sky is obviously just what would have been on the PS1. But it obviously is providing some major nostalgic vibes.
The full list of launch games in Europe haven’t been released yet. But the list that Sony showed off last week did have a number of big and classic titles on it.
For one, major titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut are on there. As well as the Demon’s Souls remake, and the PS3 version of Demon’s Souls available to stream via the cloud.
Asia is the first territory to receive the new service, from today (May 24), but over here in Europe we’re going to have to wait until June 23. That’s just about a month away now, so it won’t be too long until we know whether the new service is worth the money.
