TV Show For Ubisoft’s Unreleased Pirate Game Being Developed Before The Game Releases

Hollywood Reporter states that the brand-new IP is set to get its own TV adaptation before the game’s even out, and if that’s not a vote of confidence in the fate of the game then I don’t know what is.
It’s the first time that a brand-new game (i.e one that isn’t based on an existing IP) gets a show before the game’s even launched, and it’s definitely a risky move considering how badly game adaptations usually go (looking at you, Assassin’s Creed movie).

The pirate drama will reportedly be developed by Ubisoft’s film and television department and Atlas Entertainment, and it’s being touted as a female-driven drama. It will take place in the “golden age of piracy” in the 1700s, in “the lawless frontier of the Indian Ocean.”

Both the Skull & Bones TV adaptation and game are set to release at some point in 2019. Check out the recently-recently gameplay demo for Skull & Bones below!

What do you think? Is this going to be a yo-ho-ho and a butt-load of fun, or have we got a sinking ship on our hands?
