Twitch Rivals Fortnite Streamer Bowl is done and dusted, but the winners defied the odds to scoop themselves big bucks for charity.
The Twitch Rivals’ Streamer Bowl showdown saw some of the best Fortnite players in the world, including 16-year-old world champion Bugha, Tfue, DrLupo, NICKMERCS and TimTheTatMan, buddy up with some of the biggest NFL stars in an effort to scoop a whopping $500,000 USD for a charity of the winners’ choosing.
Drafted teams included Bugha & JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pittsburgh Steelers), UnknownxArmy & Avonte Maddox (Philadelphia Eagles), NICKMERCS & Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Reverse2K & Baker Mayfield (Cleveland Browns).
Although 16-year-old world champion Fortnite player, Bugha, was tipped to win the match with NFL pro Juju Smith-Schuster, the top prize went to none other than Cody ‘Clix’ Conrod and Chicago Bears star Tarik Cohen.
Interestingly, the betting odds were against this pair, with odds of them winning put at +1500 while Bugha’s win was a +400. It just goes to show that the world of esports is getting more nail-biting than ever, with any win possible.
The winning duo chose to donate their mammoth cash prize in aid of the Australian wildfires.
Conrod and Cohen took the $125,000 prize after a tense closing match between Clix and Bugha. Clix secured the win with a last-second kill, nabbing first place with a huge 69 points.
Second place went to Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney and Kyler Murray, with an impressive 46 points. Aydan and Kurt Benkert scored third place with 40 points.
Tfue also nabbed himself the title of tournament MVP thanks to his impressive skills in the Fortnite arena.
