Uncharted Film Director Developing Live Action Jak And Daxter

Uncharted film director Ruben Fleischer has said that he is currently working on adapting another Naughty Dog game to film, Jak and Daxter.

In a recent interview with Digital Trends, Fleischer spoke of plans to make Jak and Daxter into a film. “I’m actually working on Jak and Daxter, a version of that, for PlayStation, which I think would be really cool to bring to life,” said Fleischer in the interview.

Just this week, Uncharted star Tom Holland himself said he would be interested in making a Jak and Daxter film. “I would like to make a Jak and Daxter movie, and I would play Jak, but I would make it at A24 so that it’s really weird and dark,” said Holland. And interestingly enough, this hasn’t gone unnoticed by Fleischer.

The Uncharted director also recently spoke with GamesRadar. There, he mentioned the possibility of Holland starring in his Jak and Daxter film. “Just by coincidence, somebody forwarded me an article where Tom Holland was asked if he could make any video game a movie, which would it be,” said Flesicher.

“He said Jak and Daxter and so, when I saw him earlier this week on this tour, I said, ‘You know, Tom, someone told me that you want to make that movie. I’m actually trying to make it.’ So there’s the possibility that we could partner again on that one, which I’m really excited about.”

Holland’s wish for an A24 take on the games is unlikely to take off. But it does seem like we might see him as the pointy eared protagonist. Though if the Uncharted film is anything to go off of, we probably won’t see the film made for another decade.
