PlayStation fans who don’t currently have a Plus subscription can play multiplayer for free this weekend.
Usually, when you want to play online multiplayer on a modern games console, you need an online subscription of some sorts. Nintendo has Switch Online, Xbox has Live Gold, and PlayStation has PS Plus.
But this weekend, PlayStation players on PS4 and PS5 will be able to play online multiplayer without having an active PS Plus subscription. So you can go shoot as many aliens as you want or score all the goals you can.
You will, of course, still need a PSN account. So be sure you’re signed in and connected online to be able to play online. The free period begins tomorrow, February 12th at 12:01AM, and lasts until Valentine’s Day at 11:59PM. What a great treat!
Unfortunately, this doesn’t entitle you to other benefits of PlayStation Plus, such as the free games or extra discounts. You’ll need to actually subscribe to the service if you want that. For those who are subscribed to the service, however, you can pick up three new games at no extra cost this month. Be sure to read more about that right here.
In other news, PlayStation and Sony are having a good month. Today marks the release of the Uncharted movie, which you can read our thoughts about here. Next week also sees Horizon Forbidden West release onto PS4 and PS5.
