Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is the next addition to the lucrative franchise, but there have been concerns about its technical capabilities when it comes to Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Thankfully it’s been confirmed that the game will run at 4K 60 FPS on both PS5 and Xbox Series X, so whichever next-gen console you’ve opted for, know that Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla couldn’t be any smoother!

“With the Xbox Series X/S, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will take full advantage of the enhanced graphics, giving players the opportunity to experience the open world of Norway and England down to the very last detail,” said Ubisoft earlier this summer. “On Xbox Series X, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will run at 60 FPS in full 4K resolution.”

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that the next addition to the AC franchise will introduce a whole heap of exciting new things, including cats, magic mushrooms and even a brothel. Sounds a lot like Ubisoft is taking inspiration from The Witcher 3 with this one!

The news comes from the game’s official ESRB age rating, with the website confirming a number of notable plot points and storylines to get you excited for release.

According to the rating, we’re in for a bit of a gore-fest with Valhalla, as it will feature “screams of pain and frequent blood-splatter effects” in combat.

The listing states: “Some weapons allow players to decapitate enemies; zoomed-in sequences depict victims’ bones, organs, and muscles getting damaged by players’ blade.”

There’s also going to be some sexual references, which isn’t too much of a surprise if you’ve played Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The description reveals the following:

“The game contains some sexual material: a mission taking place in a brothel; topless women straddling men; a character agreeing to “lay with” a man (kissing is depicted before the scene fades to black).”

Meanwhile, Ubisoft is apparently sticking to the whole take-drugs-in-an-action-game-with-a-fantasy-sequence thanks to magic mushrooms.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will be a cross-gen title, launching across PS4, Xbox One and PC, along with Xbox Series X and PS5. The game’s official description reads as follows:

“Blaze your own path across England with advanced RPG mechanics. Fight brutal battles, lead fiery raids or use strategy and alliances with other leaders to bring victory. Every choice you make in combat and conversation is another step on the path to greatness.”

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will release on 10 November 2020.
