We’ve been hearing rumours about the supposedly-upcoming third instalment in Ubisoft’s much-loved Watch Dogs series for a while now, but with next to nothing confirmed, we’re living off leaks and assumptions to get our fix for the time being.
The latest Watch Dogs 3 rumour to shake up the gaming community is the suggestion that the game’s protagonist will – for the first time – be female.

A supposed leak has popped up via ResetERA [and shared to Reddit] which claims that the game’s hero will be a woman named Sarah and the new story will be set in London.
“Set in London and the main character is a young lady named Sarah, she is half Asian half English,” says the leak.
“She works for a counter-terrorist organization in a branch that specializes in stopping cyber attacks, she is tasked with infiltrating a hacker group, bringing their operations down and finding out who is in charge.”
The leak goes on to claim that guns and knives will be replaced with batons and non-lethal weapons, and says that Sarah’s backstory revolves around her deceased brother’s addiction to drugs.
It’s suggested that the game will be officially teased by Ubisoft “two weeks before E3,” and will be followed up with an official reveal at this year’s conference. The release date is claimed to be November this year.
We’re now in the final stretch on the road to E3 2019, so if the leak is true, we won’t have more than a couple of days to wait at most.
E3 2019 is set to begin June 11 and will close up on June 14. If we actually can expect an official tease two weeks before, now’s the week we can expect it…
For now, take the rumours with a pinch of salt as always!
