WATCH: Resident Evil 2 Remake Mod Replaces Mr. X With Thomas The Tank Engine

If you’ve yet to mod beloved children’s character Thomas the Tank Engine into any of your games then you’re truly not living. Although seeing Thomas’ iconic round face turn up in the likes of Skyrim is pretty weird, it’s also very hilarious, and now it’s downright terrifying thanks to a new Resident Evil 2 mod.

Yes, someone’s created a mod which replaces RE2 remake’s terrifying Mr. X with the children’s TV character/much-loved-meme. The result is…well. Check it out for yourself below.

The Thomas mod is the latest in a series of bizarre fan-created mods with which to customise your experience in Racoon City.

It joins the likes of the naked Claire mod (and no, I’m not posting pictures of that here, sorry), along with the mod in which Mr. X will show up in a thong and the one which swaps Tyrant for RE3’s Nemesis (which is actually very cool).

The Thomas mod comes courtesy of expert modder, @xZombieAlix, who you can check out on Twitter right here. Other works from the pro include the Chris Redfield mod, which you can watch for yourself below.

As for the download, it’s available over at NexusMods. Have you tried evading Thomas yet?

Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake has set the standard for what a remake should be, and the number of units shipped is almost as impressive as the title itself.

Revealing the huge number in a press announcement, Capcom celebrated shipping out over four million copies of the game since its release a month ago.

Putting that into perspective – the last main-canon Resident Evil title, RE7, didn’t hit 3.5 million shipped units until three months after launch.

Have you been enjoying the Resident Evil 2 remake?
