When & How To Play The Resident Evil Village Timed Demos

The recent Resident Evil Showcase event revealed that Resident Evil Village will be getting not one, not two but three playable demos across all formats – here’s how and when to play them.

Seemingly continuing on from the timed-exclusive deals from 2017’s Resident Evil 7, PlayStation owners will get early access to the playable demos.

Each of the demos will only be available for a short time, so if you want to play them, you’d better get in there quick before they’re gone. Thankfully you can pre-download the demos now so that you’re good to go once they go live.

The demos will also go live in North America about a day before Europe. However, if you’re a European with a US account, there are easy ways of playing the earlier demo.

The first two demos will be split into the village and the castle, with the third demo combining them both.

So when do the Resident Evil Village demos go live I hear you ask? Details can be found below.

The first playable demo which will allow us to play in the village will be available first for PS4 and PS5 in North America on April 17th at 5pm PDT.  The demo will then go live in Europe on April 18th at 7pm CEST/6pm UK time.

The second demo, which is also only available for PS4 and PS5 players, will allow us to play the Dimitrescu castle.  This demo will go live on April 24th at 5pm PDT in North America. The demo will then be available in Europe the next day on April 25th at 7pm CEST/6pm UK time.

Both demos will only be available for eight hours once they go live and each will allow you 30 minutes of playtime.

The third and final demo will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia, and will combine both the village and the castle.

The multi-format demo will be available in North America on May 1st at 5pm PDT, and the next day in Europe on May 2nd at 2am CEST/1am UK time. Once this demo goes live, you’ll have 24 hours to play it before it’s gone.

Are you looking forward to the Resident Evil Village playable demos? Personally, I can’t wait to play them on both PS4 and PS5 to compare both generations.

Resident Evil Village releases for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on May 7th.
