Xbox Australia has made some funny pieces of Xbox merchandise in the past. This includes the Xbox onesie and a pop-up gaming hotel, which I would happily stay in for a while. This new merch idea is no different, this is the “greaseproof” Xbox One controller.
It’s time to say goodbye to the greasy fingers of yesterday and hello to the sweet victory of tomorrow: no longer will chicken dinners slip through a player’s fingers, as Xbox Australia has created the limited edition PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS Greaseproof Controller!
Created to celebrate the graduation of the game from Xbox Game Preview to full release (out now) and as a nod to the fan favourite “WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!” phrase, the controller features a patented coating that is resistant to chicken grease – assisting players in their fight for elusive, yet tasty, chicken dinner victories.
This controller was made back in 2018, in celebration of PUBG coming out of beta on Xbox. I guess the idea was that you could chow down on a real chicken dinner while you fight 99 other people to try and get a virtual one – without having to worry about your controller getting all slimy.
Unfortunately, in November 2019, I couldn’t find any of these controllers up for sale on sites like eBay. They were a pretty limited run, so if you happen to come across one of these in the wild, definitely try and snap it up!

Xbox fans are also asking for other resistant controllers including ‘cheese dust’ and even ‘waterproof’.
Speaking of game controllers, the Google Stadia is officially here and it’s gotten itself some mixed-to-poor reviews from critics and consumers alike. In light of the lukewarm reception, Google has decided the best thing to do is talk about the benefits of its “gender neutral” Stadia controller. Okay.

Called the “Wasabi,” the supposedly gender neutral controller is a mint green colour and is designed “to appeal to women,” and with “smaller hands” in mind. Erm…I’ll still to the greaseproof Xbox one thanks.
