Xbox Store Listing Suggests Halo Infinite Will Have Battle Royale Mode

The upcoming Halo Infinite may have a Battle Royale mode according to a new game listing.

Over on the official Xbox Store Japan the shooter has a very interesting tag which doesn’t appear in any other countries’ store pages. The listing states what can be translated into “Battle Royale Shooting” under the “Genre” section, a description which is notably lacking for pages in other countries.

This could, of course, be down to a translation error, so it’s not all too clear whether or not Halo Infinite really will have a Battle Royale mode. As with all unconfirmed reports, take this with a pinch of salt until we hear more.

It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to have Halo details leaked from a game page listing though, as we’ve already seen the same thing happen with the game’s free-to-play multiplayer.

Just last week, UK toy retailer, Smyths Toys revealed a promotional description stating that Halo Infinite will run at up to 120 FPS and will feature a “groundbreaking free-to-play multiplayer experience.”

This was later confirmed by the Halo team, who took to Twitter to clarify the news.

“Halo is for everyone,” they tweeted. “We can confirm #HaloInfinite multiplayer will be free-to-play and will support 120FPS on Xbox Series X. More details will be shared later!”

Though this doesn’t prove a Battle Royale mode is coming to Halo Infinite, it definitely does show that accidental leaks can happen.

Halo Infinite is due to launch alongside the Xbox Series X at some point during Holiday 2020. A specific release date has yet to be confirmed. The game’s official description reads as follows: “When all hope is lost and humanity’s fate hangs in the balance, the Master Chief is ready to confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced. Begin anew and step inside the armour of humanity’s greatest hero to experience an epic adventure and finally explore the scale of the Halo ring itself.”
