Silent Hill is getting another DLC crossover event, this time with horror title Dark Deception: Monsters & Mortals.

In the brief teaser trailer announcing the crossover we hear the innerving sirens before the famous words “in my restless dreams, I see that town – Silent Hill“, taken from the opening moments of Silent Hill 2.
Dark Deception: Monsters & Mortals is a multiplayer horror game developed by Glowstick Entertainment. It currently has three multiplayer modes.
Maze Escape is a 3 vs.1 mode in which three players must collect shards to summon a portal to escape the maze, while a fourth player controls a monster to kill and stop the three players from escaping.
Shard Mayhem is a free-for-all mode with four players each controlling a monster. The player that collects the most shards before the time runs out wins. If a player kills another player, they can claim their shards.
Finally we have Soul Collection. Four mortal characters must collect shards during waves. When a wave ends the player with the least shards gets turned into a monster. The last mortal standing at the end of the final wave wins and keeps their soul.
Looking at all three modes above I’m not sure that the Silent Hill inspired DLC will add any new modes, I imagine it will just add a new monster and mortal protagonist.
Judging from the fact that the teaser trailer seems to quote Silent Hill 2, I think it’s a safe bet that the monster will be Pyramid Head and the mortal will be James Sunderland.
I’m sure fans of Dark Deception: Monsters & Mortals will appreciate this Silent Hill crossover event but it feels like another kick in the teeth from Konami for loyal fans of Silent Hill.
Since Konami decided to cancel Silent Hills from Hideo Kojima, the best we’ve got from Konami are gambling machines, DLC in Dead by Daylight and now this little-known horror game called Dark Deception: Monsters & Mortals.
Fair play to the developers at Glowstick Entertainment for getting this deal, but seriously Konami, just give your loyal fans a new Silent Hill, please!
