You Can Play A Whole New Doom Game In Minecraft Right Now

A modder has taken it upon themself to make basically a whole new Doom game, all within Minecraft.

Another day, another ridiculous Minecraft mod that highlights the massive amount of talent in the community. This time we have been gifted with what is essentially an entirely new Doom game, all within the blocky world of Minecraft. The mod is called Doomed: Demons of the Nether, and is mostly inspired by the 2016 iteration of Doom.

Speaking to PCGamesN, the creator of the mod, Sibogy, said “It’s not a copy-paste though; the level design is all different and will provide something new even for people who have already played the other Doom games. I didn’t want to make a 1:1 copy because you might as well play Doom at that point. If something seemed fun I looked to implement it.”

Sibogy started work on the mod in March 2020, and it’s available to play now. It really is basically a whole new Doom game, featuring levels on Mars, the UAC Facility, The Foundry, and The Nether. Sigoby also custom 3D modelled and programmed brand new weapons, abilities, boss fights, and cinematics. The modder put in an estimated 1200 hours into making the mod, all done on the side of their day job.

Minecraft fans really do put the work in when it comes to custom creations. Just recently, a German fan group made the entirety of Mondstadt City from Genshin Impact in Minecraft. Another truly ridiculous achievement.
