Controversial YouTube star, PewDiePie, has officially signed an exclusivity deal with the video platform. The move comes as something of a surprise considering just how turbulent the relationship between the two has been over the years.

Following quite a few controversy issues, YouTube seemed to cut a lot of ties with the creator, noticeably neglecting to include him in the yearly YouTube Rewind video showcases, despite him having the largest audience of any single creator.
“YouTube has been my home for over a decade now and live streaming on the platform feels like a natural fit as I continue to look for new ways to create content and interact with fans worldwide,” Pewds said in a statement sent out by YouTube.
“Live streaming is something I’m focusing a lot on in 2020 and beyond, so to be able to partner with YouTube and be at the forefront of new product features is special and exciting for the future.”
Hopefully this means we’ll be seeing more Let’s Plays from the star, who started off his career with LPs of horror games including the likes of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and indie horrors like Ai Oni. (Maybe we’ll even get some more Happy Wheels!)

The news comes just days after PewDiePie’s channel celebrated its 10th birthday (yup, he’s really been doing this for 10 years!)
The YouTube star recently took a break from YouTube before making his return. Thankfully, PDP has managed to stay away from controversy for the last few months, focusing on his usual meme videos and his insanely popular Let’s Plays of everyone’s favourite block game, Minecraft.
For PewDiePie fans, the official partnership between YouTube Gaming and Pewds hopefully means we’ll be seeing a steady flow of PDP gaming videos. Colour me excited for what’s to come!
