It's-a great!

Unofficial Super Mario 64 PC Port Shows Off 4K Graphics

Super Mario 64 wasn’t just one of the best games on the Nintendo 64 – it’s hands-down one of the best Mario games of all time (don’t come for me), and now it’s gotten the 2020 treatment it deserves with a 4K PC port!

Created by YouTuber, Unreal, the unofficial Super Mario 64 PC Port boasts 4K graphics and widescreen support, showing off old-school Mario like never before.

As you can see in the video below, Unreal’s work looks pretty spectacular, and it only makes me yearn for the childhood games I loved.

In an FAQ, Unreal explains that “the fullscreen uses the desktop resolution,” which needs to be capped at 30 frames per second, though they do add: “550fps at 4K without fps limit.”

Sadly, the user has made it clear that we won’t be able to download and play the game for ourselves, presumably due to Nintendo’s incredibly strict policy when it comes to the use of its IPs.

Still, we have the video to enjoy. Check it out in full below [via GoNintendo]!

Speaking of Mario projects created by fans, YouTuber Bearly Regal has created a Super Mario LEGO world within the PS4 game, Dreams.

The jaw-droppingly cool take on a LEGO Super Mario level is inspired by the upcoming official Super Nintendo LEGO sets. The creation took more than 60 hours of hard work to complete, all of which has been condensed into a six minute video which you can watch below.

Although this looks like the Dreams creation of your dreams, it’s sadly not available to play. Still, it’s awesome to see, and it only makes me even more excited for the LEGO x Super Mario collaboration, which is due to release later this summer.
