Legendary YouTuber PewDiePie is one of the most controversial content creators ever, and – honestly – it was only a matter of time before China banned him from the country’s internet.
It looks like it’s finally happened though, as Pewds took to Twitter to tell his followers and bro army: “just found out im banned in china. sh*t f*cking sucks so hard dude.”

He followed this up with another tweet, writing: “China took copyright of Pewdiepie in 2017 without me being able to stop them anyway, guess they can’t sell any more pewdiepie wedding dresses now lol.”
As you can see in the image below, that was apparently a thing. Maybe.

PDP then headed on over to his YouTube channel to give more details on the ban, where he says: “Well boys, we did it. I’m banned from China. That’s right (laughs), after I spoke about the Hong Kong protests, and showed their leader being mocked for looking like Winnie the Pooh, I got banned from China.
“That’s right. Now if you search anything PewDiePie related on any Reddit related forum in China or a YouTube related video, it will just be completely blank.”
Responding to the news on Twitter, one user explained a little more about being banned in countries like China.
They wrote: “I’ve seen this kind of things in asia. I highly doubt it was china itself but an individual hoping you would do business there and then charge you to sell the name back to you etc. I’ve seen this in India and Indonesia as well and it ended up in lawsuits on the person.”
If you’re a PewDiePie fan in China then you might have to wave goodbye to his ever-popular Minecraft videos…RIP.
Despite the many controversies Pewds has faced in his career, it’s actually pretty sad how he can’t catch a break.
