A Horizon MMORPG is rumoured to be in development, from a studio behind the likes of the Lineage and Guild Wars MMO series.
As picked up by VGC, news site MTN reports that South Korean studio, NCSoft is currently working on the MMORPG. It’s believed the project is part of Sony’s push within the live-service genre.
Could Horizon get an MMORPG?
The Horizon MMORPG is reportedly listed as “Project H” in job advertisements. Furthermore, in response to the rumours, the NCSoft global communication office reportedly read: “It is difficult to confirm information about unpublished projects that are currently under development.”
Moreover, in October 2022, rumours claimed the original Horizon Zero Dawn would be getting a remaster or remake for PS5. This is despite the fact that 2017’s HZD has a PS5 update that enables the game to run at a smooth 60FPS.
There were similar rumours
Furthermore, as well as the reports of a remaster/remake were claims that Guerrilla Games are working on a multiplayer game set within the Horizon universe for PS5 and PC.
What’s more, the most recent reports suggest that a multiplayer game is being developed by NCSoft. However, certain dots can still be connected. At this time, we should still take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt.
NCSoft is also working on another game
Would you play a Horizon MMORPG?
If the name NCSoft rings a bell, that might also be due to the stunning Heavy Rain-inspired game dubbed “Project M” revealed earlier in 2022.
