Activision: ‘Call Of Duty 2020 Already Looks Great’

Activision is currently throwing everything it has into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the free-to-play Battle Royale, CoD Warzone, but that doesn’t mean the next game isn’t on the way.

During a recent earnings call, Activision confirmed that Call of Duty 2020 is still on track to release this year, and will be coming to PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, as well as PC.

Call of Duty games always release in the final few months of the year, so the company being on track to still meet this deadline, despite coronavirus-related issues, is great news for gamers!

In terms of where the game is up to in its development, we don’t know, but Activision has stated the title “already looks great,” though of course, that doesn’t really say too much.

We’ve been hearing rumours about the upcoming 2020 Call of Duty game since way back in August last year. At the time, it was claimed that CoD 2020 would be none other than Black Ops 5, and would focus on the Cold War. However, a new leak suggests that might not be the case.

The rumour comes from known CoD leaker, TheGamingRevolution, who’s been pretty reliable with Activision leaks in the past (that being said, take everything with a pinch of salt, as always).

According to TheGamingRevolution‘s most recent video (which you can check out below), 2020’s CoD won’t bear the Black Ops title at all, either as 5 or a reboot, though it could possibly tie into the BO lore somehow.

Despite allegedly dropping the Black Ops name, the game is rumoured to still be set in Cold War era, with a focus on the Vietnam War.

In the same video, YouTuber dkdynamite said that Sledgehammer Games had plans for a Vietnam-based game since the 2010s, but the project was shelved with plans to return to it at a later date.

As always, take these leaks with a pinch of salt. What are you hoping for from Call of Duty 2020?
