Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC Will Focus On Beowulf

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla hasn’t even got a release date yet, but it seems details on the game’s DLC have already emerged. According to the official Uplay store in Germany, Valhalla’s DLC will be exploring the story of the Beowulf legend.

The description of the Valhalla Season Pass (which comes via Altchar), says players will have the chance to “discover the cruel truth behind the Beowulf legend.”

Interestingly, the description is missing on the US version of the Uplay store, meaning this could be an accidental leak.

If you don’t remember your English Literature lessons, the story of Beowulf takes place in Scandinavia in the 6th Century. The mead hall of King Hrothgar has been under attack by a monster named Grendel, and it’s up to Beowulf to save the day. Honestly, it’s pretty perfect for an Assassin’s Creed game!

Of course we don’t know when we can expect the DLC to land, but we do have a rough idea of when the main game will launch. According to Ubisoft, Valhalla will drop sometime in Holiday 2020, but rumour has it that we could be looking at October or November.

Over on Amazon Germany [via ComicBook], the companion book for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has reportedly been listed, and it’s already gotten a release date of November 17, 2020. Usually, AC companion books come out within a few weeks of the game itself (or at least, this was the case with Origins, where the book came out 17 days before the game, and Odyssey, where the book came out 25 days after the game).

So it looks like we could be seeing anywhere from late October to late November 2020, which actually isn’t too far off! Colour me excited!
