According to an industry insider, Bully 2 was close to being announced at The Game Awards last week. Could our wait soon be over?
It’s been 15 years since Bully was first released for the PlayStation 2 in 2006. In the years that followed, Bully would then arrive to the Xbox 360, the Wii, PC, and even mobile devices. Yet, despite being released 15 years ago, Bully is a game that still lives vividly in the memory of patient fans.
Rumours of a new Bully game and even a remaster have been circulating the internet for years and show no signs of going away anytime soon. We’ve had voice actors from the game talking about a sequel and even reports of a playable build once existing (which was reportedly cancelled). One of the most recent rumours was sparked by Rockstar Games filing a new trademark for the Bully licence.
So, with all the rumours and speculation, fans have just cause to believe or hope that Bully will one day return in some form. However, that triumphant return was seemingly closer than many of us would have thought.
According to the ever active and reliable Tom Henderson, he believes that Bully 2 was nearly announced at The Game Awards last week. In his own words, Henderson states that his information “is a bit blurry”, so we must take these rumours with a pinch of salt.
That being said, Henderson claims to have heard of people seeing a playable build of Bully 2 a couple of weeks before The Game Awards event, Furthermore, this wasn’t the build that was cancelled, it was apparently a new build.
Is there no smoke without fire?
Bully 2 was expected as a potential surprise reveal at #TheGameAwards last week after some people have been shown some material alluding to a reveal soon.

Information is a bit blurry at the moment, and I have to be quite vague here, but if I hear more I will report on it. pic.twitter.com/OF53pU5Y8C
Some people saw a “Playable version” just a couple of weeks prior to TGA (not the canned version).

Like I said – Information is blurry atm. But I thought it was worth reporting on as there’s something definitely “going on” to do with the series.
To spin the rumour mill even further, Henderson then shared a tweet from GameInformer’s senior Associate Editor who allegedly tweeted an image of the Bully 2 logo. Since that time, the Twitter account that tweeted this image has been made private/protected.
Obviously, as we said, we must take rumours with a pinch of salt. However, all the evidence is piling up and surely a Bully 2 announcement can’t be far away, can it? Only time will tell.
