Thanks to Gematsu, we now know that players will be able to download the Resident Evil Re:Verse open beta from April 8th.

Back in January, Resident Evil Re: Verse was announced alongside the gameplay reveal and release date of Resident Evil: Village.

Resident Evil Re:Verse is a multiplayer spin-off game that is said to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic survival horror franchise.

Resident Evil Re:Verse is a third-person multiplayer shooter that allows players to control the most iconic characters in the entire franchise from Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire, and Chris Redfield, and more.

Players will also be able to assume control of iconic villains from the Nemesis, the evolved form of Mr. X and Jack Baker to name but a few.

Up until now only a very select number of players have experienced Resident Evil Re:Verse, with invites being sent out for the closed beta which took place at the end of January.

However, with an open beta taking place in April, everyone can get a taste of Resident Evil Re:Verse.

The beta will be available to download from April 5th, for when it kicks off on April 7th (depending on your regional time zone). It will run until April 11th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

To take part in the beta, you’ll have to link your Capcom ID to your console of choice before getting involved.

At this time we don’t know what modes, maps, and characters will be playable during the open beta, but I’m guessing that we’ll find out in the next week or so.

To be honest, despite being a big Resident Evil fan, I’m not overly optimistic for Resident Evil Re: Verse as I’ve not heard great things about it (as explained by the Resi fan channel, Ink Ribbon, in the video below).

However, I will be giving the game the benefit of the doubt and I intend to test out the beta.

Resident Evil Re:Verse will release on May 7th and will come bundled in with Resident Evil: Village.
