The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer CD Projekt Red has responded to recent rumours that its forthcoming and highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 is set for yet another delay.
Cyberpunk 2077 has already suffered a number of delays and despite recently going Gold, it got delayed again from its November release date to December 10th.

Once again, rumours have started to circulate with the internet believing that Cyberpunk 2077 will suffer a fourth delay, pushing the game back again this time into 2021. The rumour stemmed from an update to Cyberpunk’s Twitter account, which removed mentions of pre-orders from the page.
In response to the rumours CD Projekt Red told IGN: “As a rule, we don’t comment on rumours or speculation,
“But I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”

Like the rest of the world, I hope that Cyberpunk 2077 does not suffer another delay but at the same time I don’t want it to be released before it’s ready. If it releases in a buggy state I fear that CD Projekt Red will come under even more scrutiny than ever before – especially with recent studio crunch controversy.
However it seems that – despite rumours – Cyberpunk 2077 is on course for its December 10th launch for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Google Stadia.

Following the most recent delay developers at CD Projekt Red were recipients of death threats from some disgruntled fans.
In other related news CD Projekt Red recently announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would be coming to next-gen consoles in 2021 and those that own the game on PS4 and Xbox One will receive a free next-gen upgrade.
