CDPR Stock Plummets After Cyberpunk 2077 Removed From PSN Store

Following the quite shocking decision by Sony to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store, to little surprise, the stock shares of CD Projekt Red have plummeted.

We could talk all day about the many reported issues related to Cyberpunk 2077’s launch of just over a week ago, but each day it seems that a new problem has arrived, so we’d never keep up.

It’s fair to say that Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t launch in its best state, especially on the base PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

This problem was acknowledged by CDPR in a statement in which the company said: “We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We will fix bugs and crashes, and improve the overall experience.”

In the same statement CDPR also encouraged unhappy customers to seek refunds if they didn’t want to wait for patches for the game to be fixed.

This yet again opened up further cans of worms because it seems no arrangement was made with Microsoft and Sony, with Sony being not so relaxed on issuing everyone refunds.

Then we wake up this morning to even more bad news regarding Cyberpunk 2077 because Sony has pulled the game from the PlayStation Store until further notice.

Cyberpunk 2077 being pulled from the PSN Store had an expected knock-on effect for shareholders at CDPR as shares have now plummeted.

The news was brought to our attention by video games journalist Calvin of TheGamesBiz.com.

He reported that following the removal of Cyberpunk 2077 from the PSN Store stock shares at CD Projekt Red have fallen by just under 20%.

It was expected that share prices would fall, but they’ll no doubt likely increase again in the future. However this is just a long line of ever-evolving problems for CDPR to contend with.

Never in my life have I found Phoebe from the sitcom TV show Friend’s rant of “Stop! Stop the Madness!” so relatable.

Hopefully CDPR will get back on track ASAP as it’s not good for everyone involved.
