Dead By Daylight Single Player Game – What We Know So Far

The multiplayer survival game Dead By Daylight has been confirmed to be getting a single player counterpart. Here’s what we know.

First released back in 2016, Dead By Daylight is an asymmetric multiplayer survival horror game from Behaviour Interactive. It has amassed a loyal following, a whole lot of collaborations and now it seems it will be getting a singleplayer adaptation.

Dead By Daylight Single Player Game

This will be a new project by Supermassive games who are best known for The Dark Pictures Anthology, Until Dawn and The Quarry. With a roster of successful single player horror games under their belt, they should have what it takes to transform DBD.

As it stands, we don’t have many details about the project but can expect to hear more later in the year. For now, we know the project will “offer players an intense narrative experience filled with powerful life-or-death choices set within the backdrop of Dead by Daylight.”

This information was shared during Behaviour Interactive’s Year 7 Anniversary Broadcast.

“We’ve been working hard to blend intention, agency, and the branching storytelling of a Supermassive game together with Dead by Daylight’s mythology to create an intense narrative experience filled with power life-or-death choices,” says executive producer Traci Tufte.

“Our game will be set outside the Entity’s realm and features the story of a new cast of characters, who players will follow for an unprecedented experience beyond the Fog.”

Multiplayer game also in the works

Dead by Daylight fans can also look forward to another multiplayer experience. This one will be handed over to Scavengers studio Midwinter Entertainment but once again, we are pretty much in the dark about details.

According to its producer, “the themes in our game will center around greed and the lust for power.”

“These will be present in both the gameplay itself and in the stories of the characters who were tempted to enter a strange new corner of the Entity’s realm.

“Our vision is to create a multiplayer PvE experience where instead of facing off against each other, up to four players can team up, enter another one of the Entity’s realms, and take on a host of deadly enemies that occupy it.”
