Diamond And Pearl Remakes ‘Teased’ By Official Pokémon Twitter

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are two of the best games from the longstanding franchise, but could a remake be on the cards? Fans seem to think so and it’s all thanks to a recent tweet from the official Pokémon Twitter account.

The company shared a comment on the anniversary of Diamond and Pearl’s release, and the choice of wording has left fans drooling over a potential remake.

“Confirmed: North American Trainers first visited the Sinnoh region when Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl released on this day in 2007!” reads the tweet.

“Did you prefer to test your Pokémon’s strength in the Battle Tower or their cuteness in Pokémon Super Contests? (No shame in doing both)”

What seems like a harmless tweet has raised eyebrows because of one single word: “Confirmed.” A strange and possibly poignant choice of words, according to lots of Pokéfans…

Before you go thinking we’re clutching at straws, this isn’t the first time that the idea of a Diamond and Pearl remake has been floated. Back in October last year, we reported on a theory that the games were in the works.

The rumour stemmed from Pokéfan Paul Ryan, who runs the website Pokéshopper. At the time, he commented on leaks suggesting the company’s line-up will include remakes of Diamond and Pearl. This was down to the fact that Generation IV characters from Sinnoh have been reportedly ‘created for merchandise purposes’.

According to Ryan’s video, he believes this is actually following the same pattern for Generation I merchandise that preceded the release of remakes Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!/Let’s Go, Eevee! If that’s the case, then could it mean that Diamond and Pearl will be with us sooner than never at all?

He made a pretty convincing video here, if you want to check it out.

I’m really hoping this is the case!
