FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has now apparently won more Game of the Year awards than Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us: Part 2.
Firstly, before we proceed, the number of apparent Game of the Year awards is not an official total or at least compiled by publishers that represent each game. Nonetheless, it would be safe to assume that the reported total would be within the ballpark.
How many awards has Elden Ring won?
As reported by Gamesradar, the total of Game of the Year awards has been compiled by devoted researchers of ResetEra. According to the researchers, Elden Ring has earned 324 awards in 2022. Whereas The Last of Us: Part 2 won a total of 322 in 2020.
The ResetEra researchers compiled the numbers from various media outlets as well as fan-voted polls. According to the data, Elden Ring won 281 GOTY awards from media outlets and 43 from fan polls.
To compare notes, The Last of Us: Part 2 won 195 awards from media outlets and 108 via fan polls. Elsewhere, one of 2022’s other major successes was God of War Ragnarok which won a total of 74 awards.

2022 was an epic year for gaming and at the forefront of that charge was Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok.
At The Game Awards 2022, God of War Ragnarok picked up the most dongs with 6 awards with Elden Ring claiming four. However, the most recent hit by FromSoftware picked up the prestigious Game of the Year.
