An industry insider has claimed that The Elder Scrolls 6 won’t arrive until 2026 at the very earliest, perhaps even 2027!
The claim comes from Tyler McVicker on Twitter. The known Valve leaker has a pretty decent track record with leaks and correctly predicted the existence of a Half-Life prequel months before Half-Life: Alyx was announced.
McVicker also recently made predictions for the rumoured Fallout: New Vegas 2, Starfield and Fallout 5.
“I expect FNV2 in the latter half of this decade. I expect TES6 in 2026-7. I expect anything close to a Fallout 5 in the 2030s,” said McVicker in a recent tweet [via GamingBible].
McVicker’s tweet continued: “Starfield is next, and even that needs another year or two.”
The Elder Scrolls 6 was first announced in 2018 and during that time I think most of us probably assumed that it would be a five year wait, taking us to 2023.
However, let’s say that The Elders Scrolls 6 won’t release until 2027, which would be a nine year wait and a whopping sixteen years since the release of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
Though between now and 2027, just imagine how many more re-releases Skyrim could get to tide us all over!
However it is somewhat positive that McVicker believes that Starfield might release in the next couple of years. Starfield is a Bethesda sci-fi title also announced in 2018, which we still know very little about.
Unfortunately much like The Elder Scrolls 6, we’ll also be in for a long wait for any new Fallout games if McVicker’s claims are true.
However, as always, it must be said that at this time the claims are unconfirmed and all rumours must be taken with a pinch of salt.
