Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Announcement Is This Year, Teases Producer

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 announcement is planned to happen this year, teases Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase.

This week, Square Enix celebrated the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7s first release for the original PlayStation in 1997. However, during a livestream this week, the FF7 director teased that the second part of the FF7 Remake will be revealed this year.

Translated by VGC, Kitase said: “We are hard at work on Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, so please look forward to that. In addition, with regards to the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake [Part 2]… there will be more information… this year if we can.

When asked if he’s sure that FF7 Remake Part 2 will be revealed in 2022, the director replied: “Well yeah. We just started the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII, so we want to celebrate and get fans excited, so within the next 12 months we want to share some information. Look forward to more information.

Could the announcement happen this year?

Obviously, it’s by no means set in stone. However, in the year of the 25th anniversary of the original Final Fantasy 7, it would make perfect sense to announce the second part of the remake. It would surely be a fantastic way to top off the Square Enix celebrations.
