It seems that Mark Wahlberg has revealed the moustache of Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan in the forthcoming Uncharted movie – and gamers have a lot of thoughts.
Last week we got our first look at Tom Holland as Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie and, to be perfectly honest, he looks the part of a young Nathan Drake much better than I ever expected.
The image of Tom Holland closely resembles that of the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception box art, which originally released for the PlayStation 3 in 2011. Over the weekend it was the turn of Mark Wahlberg to send the internet into a frenzy with a picture of his moustache. Though it’s not been confirmed to be the costume of Wahlberg’s Sully, it definitely seems as though that’s the case.
Now it is worth keeping in mind that Wahlberg’s magnificent ‘tash has no official ties to the Uncharted movie – at least not yet. It’s just believed to be a sneak peek at what’s to come. This tash could be its own entity, acting on its own volition, but with the fact that Victor “Sully” Sullivan also has a magnificent moustache, it’s probably safe to assume that this moustache is the big reveal.
Having no moustache would have impacted the believability of Wahlberg looking the part and, while in most part, the internet has reacted quite favourably it seems, there are many believing that Wahlberg resembles more of an exotic 80’s actor or a popular lead singer, rather than Sully from the beloved Uncharted series.
Thankfully, some of those awesome gamers have reacted by digging-out some decent side-by-side images of Wahlberg and Sully to give us good comparisons to work with.
For me personally, I’m not sure that Mark Wahlberg looks all that much like Sully, but just like Tom as Drake, this is a younger Sully and not the grey-haired aged character that we’re more accustomed to from the video games.
The Uncharted movie which has suffered multiple delays and change of directors is currently scheduled to release March, 2021. Not only will it star Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg respectively, but it will also star Sophia Ali (Grey’s Anatomy) as Chloe Frazer.
