Original Story 03/02/22: Ghostwire: Tokyo has had its March release date confirmed by Sony. It was seemingly revealed by accident ahead of a reveal.

Last month a leak on the PlayStation Store suggested that Ghostwire: Tokyo will release this coming March. It was safe to assume that this information leaked ahead of schedule, and it seems it’s happened again. Albeit via a different route this time.

On the PlayStation YouTube channel, a showcase is awaiting to premiere for Ghostwire: Tokyo. The showcase is scheduled to premiere at 10pm UK time later today. However, found in the description of the upcoming showcase is the release date of March 25th, 2022.

Now, this could be intentional by Sony, though I would have thought it would have waited until the end of the premiering trailer to reveal the release date. Furthermore, the description of the YouTube video in question also mentions pre-order DLC as well as early access.

There will be a Deluxe Edition

It’s not clear what the pre-order DLC might be, however, the mention of a Deluxe Edition details a Shinobi Outfit, Kunai Weapon as well as a Streetwear Fashion Pack. Perhaps the pre-order DLC and the Deluxe Edition content is one and the same. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Additionally, it’s also mentioned that the Deluxe Edition grants early access to Ghostwire: Tokyo. The previous leaked release date mentioned March 23rd. So, could the Deluxe Edition arrive two days earlier than the March 25th launch? Only time will tell.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long until all is revealed with the showcase event taking place later today. Ghostwire: Tokyo could be the last Bethesda title for Sony following Microsoft’s acquisition of parent company ZeniMax Media.
