God of War Ragnarok seemingly won’t be getting any story DLC, so we wouldn’t recommend holding your breath waiting for it to happen.
However, the news of God of War Ragnarok not getting any story DLC should come as no surprise. After all, God of War (2018) didn’t get any story DLC either. In fact, thinking back, I’m pretty sure the entire series as a whole has only ever gotten mostly cosmetic DLC.
Don’t count on DLC happening
Speaking on Kinda Funny ‘Spoilercast’ (thanks Push Square), God of War Ragnarok director Eric Williams was asked about the possibility of the game receiving DLC. “I dunno man, [God of War Ragnarok] is big,” replied Williams. “I think we put everything we had into it, so I wouldn’t count on it.”

While it does seem unlikely that Ragnarok won’t be getting substantial DLC, it seems that Williams didn’t entirely rule out the possibility. That being said, in Williams’s own words we shouldn’t “count on it.”
However, if Sony and Santa Monica Studio do decide to develop an expansion for Ragnarok, it would certainly prove to be very popular among fans. Especially if we’re waiting for another 3 to 4 years for the next God of War game to arrive.
We reviewed God of War Ragnarok

In our review of God of War Ragnarok, we said: “everything you loved about the previous title, but amplified. The longer story and expanded worlds give way for characters to develop in meaningful ways, making the whole game feel very much like a sequel worthy of its predecessor.”
I suppose if animal rights group PETA gets its way, we could be getting a watered-down DLC of the latest adventures of Kratos and Atreus.
