God of War Ragnarok Odin concept art has leaked and it might look a little different to what you might expect.
Earlier this year, the God of War Ragnarok artist at Santa Monica Studio revealed their version of the “Mighty Thor”. It was fair to say that it wasn’t what a lot of fans were expecting.
To be fair, there are many versions of Thor and not all of them have the glowing blonde hair and physique of the MCU’s Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth. However, if a previous rumour is to be believed, Thor in God of War Ragnarok could be around 7ft 4 tall and has a closer resemblance to someone seen in a strongman contest.
God of War spoilers ahead!
Just a heads up, we’re about to go into spoilers here related to the conclusion of God of War (2018). Despite fans being surprised at the God of Thunder’s physical appearance in God of War, it shouldn’t really have come as a surprise.
God of War (2018) features a secret ending after the credits have rolled. When Kratos and Atreus make it home, they are greeted by an unwelcome visitor. None other than Thor himself.
While we can’t see Thor in all his glory, we do see his silhouette and it’s quite clear the kind of physique that he has.
However, a leaked image of Odin, father of Thor has now appeared on the internet. If you were expecting an Odin to resemble the version seen in the MCU played by Anthony Hopkins, you might be disappointed. That being said, I think this version of Odin looks fantastic and maybe even a little sinister.
The image in question was leaked by Dusk Golem aka AestheticGamer, a prominent industry leaker. The concept art of Odin was posted on Tumblr, presumably to make it more difficult to be taken down by Sony or Santa Monica Studio.
“I’m just holding onto a bunch of misc. God of War Ragnarok things right now, decided to only post concept art of Odin,” posted Dusk on Reddit. “All I’m going to post, and yes, Odin looks a lot different than I imagined too.”
While the concept image might look different to how some may have imagined, like Thor in God of War (2018), it should come as no surprise. Another heads up, we’re about to go into spoilers again.
More God of War spoilers!
Furthermore, at some point in the God of War (2018) story, Kratos and Atreus discover a mural that reveals their past, present and future. Numerous Norse mythology gods feature on this wall, including Odin.
Moreover, the Odin seen on the mural has a very close resemblance to the leaked concept art. You can check out the leaked Odin concept art here.
Finally, in related God of War news, resellers swiped most of the stock of the Jotnar Edition to sell for greedy profits on auction websites. However, in case you’re interested, here are the various editions of God of War Ragnarok available for launch.
